this bathroom is tiny -- basically a cube 8' on all sides. the clients desired, nonetheless, space for two people at a time. the budget was tight -- note the use of ceramic tile on walls and floor and the preservation of the existing, somewhat awkwardly-located window. however, careful use of custom touches -- custom showercurtain (made of painter's tarp and fiberglas screen mesh), stainless steel marine hardware, and travertine marble accents (shower shelf, shower light mounting ring, window sill), as well as figured-maple tub skirt and shelving -- lend a touch of richness to the whole.
this kitchen was built by, and suttondesign gratefully acknowledges the skill and craftsmanship of, chris smith contracting, inc. of mclean, va.
