this bathroom embodies the concept of a "wet room" -- the entire room can take water, and the water drains toward a single drain. the bathroom is all-new space reclaimed from unused space in an existing floorplan. the client sought a color scheme and fixtures to match the other bathroom in their home, a 1920's-vintage American Standard kit bathroom with blue-green ceramic tile and a china pedestal lavatory on chrome legs -- but the client also wanted a stronger, more contemporary thematic touch. the exquisite ceramic tile, including a custom, computer-generated mosaic, is from appiani of italy. classic fixtures and fittings are from waterworks. tile design by suttondesign. the custom teak mirror unit hinges to reveal a tiled-in recess with custom glass shelving.
