this kitchen was commissioned by an english client who wished the room to echo the english farmhouse kitchen she grew up with. design elements include: a loose configuration of more "furniture-like" storage pieces, simple casework detailing, a porcelain farm sink with exposed front apron, and a teak countertop with routed draining area. the kitchen is very up to date -- though not glamorous -- in terms of systems and appliances. space considerations forbade a large, central work table. the flooring is reclaimed, newly-milled antique wide plank oak. the pantry system is custom: cherry solids, aligned reeded glass panels, heavy-duty cross-sliding door hardware.
